								At Carmel, everything revolves around ‘Excellence, Community, Tradition’. 

From Kindergarten upwards, academic excellence is paramount. At the same time, we place value on the development of the whole child, discovering each child’s unique talents and interests. The hallmark of Carmel is its maximize each student’s success in his or her area of excellence. This focus, in turn, builds self-esteem and enhances achievements across the full spectrum of education. 

Family involvement is key and begins from the moment you visit our campuses. We believe the parent-school partnership underpins a child’s ability to blossom and develop to his or her full potential. Carmel functions as one large family, providing support, care, help and direction. 

At Carmel’s Elementary, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (PYP) has played a key role in allowing the children to access, critically analyse and manipulate information, always with the aim of acting upon learning and being leaders of change, helping them to become independent learners and working to instill within enthusiasm for the pursuit of knowledge. 

We are an English medium school offering immersion in Mandarin and Hebrew from Pre-school up with French an option for our francophone children. 

At Carmel Elementary, we think about and reflect on our learning, challenge ourselves and take ownership for our learning, and try to act on and show the qualities of the PYP Learner Profile, by aiming to be: Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, Risk-takers, Knowledgeable, Principled, Caring, Open-minded, Well-balanced and Reflective. 

We encourage our students to learn through curiosity, to ask questions and to explore ways of finding answers to these questions. This inquiry-based approach involves our teachers carefully guiding our students in: 

exploring, wondering and questioning
experimenting and playing with possibilities
making connections between previous learning and current learning
making predictions and acting purposefully to see what happens
collecting data and reporting findings
clarifying existing ideas and reappraising perceptions of events
researching and seeking information
taking and defending a position

Carmel’s Preschool is housed at 70 Robinson Road, and the Elementary School at 10-12 Borrett Road.
