                                 The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is an international school in Hong Kong established in 1969.  Around 150 teachers and 250 staff members in total work with around 1,300 students, from Kindergarten to Secondary level.
 
Long-renowned for our excellence in teaching and student achievement, GSIS operates as one school with two parallel streams at two campuses.  GSIS offers a German and English curriculum based education, leading to internationally recognised certificates such as the German International Abitur, IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme.
 
GSIS provides a sustainable and holistic education, making it possible for our students to recognise and develop their diverse and individual potential and talent.  Our core programme consists of humanistic, science and creative subjects as well as a comprehensive language offering and is completed by an extensive and manifold list of extracurricular activities.
 
With students hailing from over 30 different countries, cultural diversity is a given at GSIS and we see a heterogeneous and inclusive way of teaching as a viable and valuable component of school life.  Outside the classroom learning opportunities such as Discovery Week and the GSIS house system foster team and community spirit and promote effort and positive social behaviour.
 
Like the rest of the School, our Kindergarten Department at Pok Fu Lam consists of a German and an English Stream and is a through-train school.
 
The English International Stream has four classes (two EKG1s and two EKG2 classes).  These four classes are divided into two different age groups to prepare for the transition to the English Primary Department.
 
The German International Stream Department has three bilingual classes (two German/English classes, one German/Mandarin class) with children of mixed ages to prepare for the transition to the German Primary Department.
 
Besides the classrooms, our GSIS Pok Fu Lam Campus facilities include a Library, a School Hall, a Gymnasium, an outdoor playground, and dedicated rooms for Music, Learning Support, German as a Second Language (German Int. Stream) and Putonghua (English Int. Stream).
 
A mandatory school bus policy is in place at Pok Fu Lam Campus.
