                                 About ESF

The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest provider of English-medium international education in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds.

Our strategic intent is to be the key driver of best practice in teaching and learning. Our model of education is on the cutting-edge of global innovation producing excellent outcomes for our students.

There are more than 17,000 students from about 60 different nationalities in ESF schools, Private Independent Schools and kindergartens. About 70% of our students have parents who are permanent residents of Hong Kong.

Jockey Club Sarah Roe School

Jockey Club Sarah Roe School is an ESF all-through school. The school is a specialist resource that supports students with a wide range of individual needs, ranging from students with severe to moderate intellectual disabilities. Some students have complex disabilities and we have many students with autism. Age range is 5 to 19. The school strives to empower children and young people to maximise their potential, and where appropriate, make their transition into mainstream education through collaborative inclusion programmes. Every child has an Individualised Educational Plan (IEP) including literacy, numeracy, communication, personal and social education, and behaviour targets. The school's multidisciplinary team of therapists contributes to the IEP as required. All students leaving the school at the end of their educational career do so with a record of achievement and portfolios of work that are accredited by Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN), an awarding body that is recognised by further education, commerce and industry.
