                                 Founded in 1983, Chinese International School (CIS) offers an international
education from Reception to Year 13 in two languages – Mandarin and English.
The school has 1500 students encompassing approximately 30 nationalities. CIS
places a strong emphasis on integrating Chinese culture into its curriculum.
Students with no prior knowledge of Chinese culture and no Mandarin language
skills are welcome to join the school in Reception and Year 7, but admission in
other year levels without some prior knowledge of Mandarin is very limited.
Students in the Primary School (Years 1 to 6) follow the CIS Primary curriculum
while those in the Secondary School (Years 7 to 13) follow the International
Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).

Overseas families considering relocation to Hong Kong are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office as early as possible as admissions deadlines are strictly observed and decisions for Secondary are handled on a rolling basis.

CIS provides support to students with Special Needs by way of 2 Learning Enhancement teachers in the Secondary School and 2.5 Learning Enhancement teachers in the Primary School. These teachers provide support for students with mild to moderate learning differences who require additional assistance in order to be successful in mainstream classes.

Limited financial aid for families in financial need upon application to the Business Office.
