Community

International schools are encouraged to be a good neighbour and responsible member of the community. Towards this end, the following has been implemented to meet the needs and address the concerns of the community.

  • In response to requests from local communities, some international schools have been requested to restrict students from taking private cars to schools. Students in these schools are required to commute to and from the school by school bus or public transportation (excluding taxi). These include the Pokfulam campus of the German Swiss International School, the Primary School of the Hong Kong International School and the Chai Wan campus of the French International School.
  • Schools are required to minimise the impact on the living environment of the neighbourhood when carrying out works at the allocated premises and/or sites.
  • School operators who have been allocated premises and/or sites are required to make available their school facilities for public use after school hours and on public holidays if there are no school activities. Any fees, if charged, should be on a cost recovery basis. Schools on private land are encouraged to do the same.
